When the snow gently trickles and the Christmas tree shows its most beautiful leaves, then the Christmas market is probably open.Here in Val Venosta, as well as throughout the rest of the region, this means tradition, ambiance, and full Christmas romance. The smaller markets in the surrounding areas such as Glprenza, Silandro, or Laces exude the unique magic of the holiday season.

 

The Merano Christmas Market and the Bolzano Christmas Market are absolute highlights in South Tyrol every year. Both markets offer a beautiful atmosphere, surrounded by fragrant pine trees, sparkling lights, and festive sounds. Visitors can look forward to a wide selection of handmade gifts, treats, and traditional products. Exploring the Christmas market can be perfectly combined with a leisurely stroll or a shopping tour in the city. Discover the historic alleys and the many boutiques and shops that Merano and Bolzano have to offer.

Christmas Market in Merano

The Christmas market transforms the town into an enchanting place with thousands of lights and traditional huts. Visitors can enjoy warm drinks while the children have fun on the ice rink, with pony rides or in the Christmas bakery.

Christmas Market in Bolzano

The Christmas market in Bolzano is the largest in Italy and has been attracting numerous visitors for around 20 years. In addition to various Christmas biscuits, the 70 or so stalls also offer handicrafts and decorative items. For children, there are pony rides, a puppet show, a children's railway and a carousel.

Christmas Market in Silandro

The annual Christmas market weekend in Silandro takes place in mid-December. Venosta Valley hobby artists, craftspeople, local and Italian producers present handmade gift ideas, traditional handicrafts and regional products. The romantic weekend in the heart of Silandro is of course accompanied by Christmas music.

Christmas Market in Glorenza

Just like the Christmas market in Silandro, the Glorenza Advent Christmas Market only lasts one weekend. Surrounded by medieval town walls, it creates a unique pre-Christmas atmosphere. The market offers traditional handicrafts from South Tyrol and other countries such as Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. Brass bands and choirs provide christmas music.
